AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — BorgWarner, a global product leader in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions, will soon supply engine control modules (ECMs) on an internal-combustion engine (ICE) pick-up truck platform for one of its longstanding global OEM customers. The new, high-volume contract extends the company’s existing customer relationship through 2034, with production expected to begin in 2029.

BorgWarner will soon supply engine control modules (ECMs) on an internal-combustion engine (ICE) pick-up truck platform for one of its longstanding global OEM customers, extending the company’s existing customer relationship through 2034.

BorgWarner’s ECM is designed specifically for the platform, providing increased content and functionality, greater control flexibility, and a compact design to meet tight packaging requirements. The company has supplied ECMs to this customer since 2020 on several of its existing applications.

“Securing this strategic ECM program win maintains BorgWarner’s electronics leadership and extends our engagement with this long-time partner through 2034,” said Isabelle McKenzie, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President and General Manager, PowerDrive Systems. “This program builds on our strong relationship with the customer and reflects the value of close collaboration. By combining our deep expertise in engine control technology with an understanding of the customer’s requirements, we are helping deliver a solution tailored to the needs of this important platform.”

BorgWarner has a range of light-vehicle controllers for hybrid and combustion engines that deliver precise control of engine management systems for diesel, gasoline direct injection (GDi) and port fuel injection applications. Additionally, these ECMs utilize BorgWarner’s custom, cost-competitive Application Specific Integrated Circuits that meet the latest emissions requirements. With high levels of fuel control flexibility, the controllers are manufactured to be fully compatible with all injectors currently on the market. The ECM offers multiple pin-connection configurations, integrated exhaust aftertreatment functionality, and a flexible design enabled by an advanced microprocessor. Further, its GDi control can support 500-bar system pressures.

Beyond light-vehicle ICE engine controllers, BorgWarner has an array of solutions and technology to support a wide range of propulsion needs, including battery management controllers, motor controllers, commercial vehicle engine controllers, light and commercial vehicle transmission controllers, plus more.
