Zendesk has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for CRM Customer Engagement Center for the second consecutive year. Zendesk believes this recognition reflects its continued focus on AI that delivers outcomes that matter, meeting customers wherever they are.
“Customers remember how a company shows up when they need help,” said Shashi Upadhyay, Zendesk President of Product, Engineering and AI. “We’re bringing AI and human expertise together, so service teams have the context they need to quickly take action and deliver the right outcome. We believe being named a Leader for the second consecutive year reflects the progress our teams have made and our commitment to powering compelling service experiences for customers everywhere.”
Redefining Service
Zendesk designed the Autonomous Service Workforce around a simple premise: service should solve problems, not deflect them. Powered by the Zendesk Resolution Platform and trained on roughly 20 billion ticket interactions, it brings AI agents, copilots, knowledge, workflows and human teams together in one connected system for customer and employee service. AI agents can reason through complex requests and take action across systems. Copilots guide human teams, while people stay in control of service outcomes. Together, these capabilities help organizations coordinate service across channels, teams and systems.
Zendesk is applying this approach across critical operations:
- For customer service: Specialized Agents move beyond answering questions to reason through complex requests and take action across systems. To power an autonomous service workforce, Zendesk provides both ready-to-deploy Industry Agents and customizable agents. In e-commerce, Industry Agents handle order tracking, returns, and delivery issues. With Agent Builder, businesses tailor Custom Agents to their specific policies and workflows. Across the platform, customers ran more than 1 million Custom Agent executions in the first seven weeks of launch.
- For voice and live engagement: Zendesk Contact Center connects voice, digital, and self-service into one workspace. Voice AI Agents manage spoken phone conversations across 53 languages, taking action across backend tools and smoothly handing off to human agents when needed. For live calls, Real-Time Voice Translation supports two-way conversations so agents and customers can speak naturally in supported languages.
- For employee service: That same operational coordination extends to internal teams, where a single request often spans multiple departments and systems. Employee Service AI Agents and Advanced Action Flows automate multi-step processes such as onboarding and access approvals directly through Slack or Microsoft Teams. In the first five weeks of early access, 300 customers drove 6 million workflow executions, saving an estimated 500,000 hours of manual work.*
“Zendesk’s continued positioning in the Leaders quadrant highlights the speed at which it is translating the promise of agentic AI into practical, real-world customer service operations,” said Jim Davies at Actionary. “By anchoring its strategy around the Autonomous Service Workforce, with AI agents, copilots and human teams working in one workspace, Zendesk enables organizations to leverage AI with more complete customer context, facilitating the confidence to price on verified resolutions and real, measurable outcomes.”
Looking Ahead
For Zendesk, being named a Leader for the second consecutive year fuels our momentum to keep pushing service forward. As AI transitions from completing single tasks to coordinating entire operations, Zendesk is accelerating the expansion of its Autonomous Service Workforce to move service from reactive support to proactive business outcomes. By combining advanced reasoning, enterprise integrations, and human expertise, Zendesk continues to advance service that is continuous, personal, and focused on complete outcomes.
